Man arrested in mobile phone store heists

Two 2nd Police District officers captured a masked gunman who allegedly robbed two mobile telephone stores in the Northeast on Nov. 14.

The patrol officers spotted Terrell Richardson, 31, of the 5800 block of Race St. in West Philadelphia, as he exited the Metro PCS on the 6800 block of Bustleton Ave. at about 7:20 p.m., police said. Moments earlier, Richardson allegedly had entered the store wearing a black ski mask, pulled a gun on a clerk and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.

The officers stopped Richardson on the 2000 block of Glenview St. and arrested him.

About 20 minutes earlier, a man fitting Richardson’s description had committed a similar gunpoint heist at the Metro PCS on the 6400 block of Frankford Ave. in Mayfair and made off with about $150 cash.

Richardson was charged in both crimes.

No injuries were reported in either robbery. ••
